A: When your current hosting provider can no longer measure up to the demands of your web site, or when you go through continuous downtime, or if you are forced to wait for hours for the customer support staff to reply to you, it might be a smart idea to swap your provider, i.e. to transfer all the files for your websites along with your databases from your current provider to your new provider. At Computer Lifeline, we are aware that this can often be hard & time–consuming. That’s the reason why we’ll do all that for you for free!Our skillful technical team representatives will transfer your web site content from your current web hosting provider to us. Our techs have lots of experience migrating web sites and are able to take care of anything – from a traditional WordPress–driven weblog or Joomla^™ CMS–based web site, to a very complex, custom–made application.

A: There are a lot of variables to keep in mind – the total number of files, the physical size of the database, the complexity of the site itself and the present workload of our web site migration professionals, etc. That being said, we do try to implement all website migrations within a 48–hour window. Smaller web sites are transferred faster – usually within 24 hours.

A: We don’t request any sensitive details. We will need, however, the login information for your present hosting account and the name of the website that you need to migrate.

A: In order for us to begin the transfer of your account, you must first open an account with us. Opening an account with us will require that you to disclose precisely the same details you have given to your current web hosting provider. We also have a very rigorous Privacy Policy, which describes how personal data is used.

A: Your site will work exactly like it did before with your old web hosting provider. After we are done with the transfer, your site will be configured to work on our web hosting platform and we’ll alert you to preview it. If everything is working properly, all you will need to do is change the NS records corresponding to your domain name. Your website will be migrated over to us without any downtime.

A: Nope. Apart from your login details for the Control Panel, we do not require anything. We will never get in touch with your hosting provider. They won’t know anything about the migration either.

A: We support all Linux–powered hosting platforms. Fundamentally, if we can acquire access to your Control Panel, we will be able to migrate your web site.The only platforms that we don’t support are closed–source site management platforms such as Wix, BaseKit, Jimdo, Website Tonight, Four Square, Mr Site, etc.
